What a bargain!

The Boutique Blossom flower stamp is big & beautiful & only $16.95. This is the card that we all got to make at a recent team training my upline Jacque organised for us - even though we call them team training they're really fun play days, it's so nice to be the other side of the table :)

I just adored the card, the big flower is big WOW for me. The flower stamp has been embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder on the pre-cut out Chalk Talk framelit & then the centre lightly sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe ink (which is my favourite new in-colour ink). The framelit is lightly sponged with Crumb Cake ink around the edges too.

If you'd like to recreate the card it's a 5x5" square card, with strips of gorgeous Soho Subway DSP (which you can stock up this month on - see the latest promo from SU! at the end). The designer paper forms the background & they've been faux-stitched using our Essentials paper piercing pack.

Recipe:

Stamps: Boutique Blossom (132663), Mosiac Madness (130246 Wood or 130249 Clear)
Ink: Versamark (102283), Crisp Cantaloupe (131176), Crumb Cake (126975)
Paper: Early Espresso (121695), Soho Subway DSP (130140) , Very Vanilla (106550)
Other: Essentials paper piercing pack (126187), Early Espresso marker (119680), sponge daubers (102892), Very Vintage designer buttons (129327), linen thread (104199), dimensionals (104430), Chalk talk framelits (129883)

We have 5 single stamps available to purchase until August 31st which are all pretty cute - at this stage I'm not sure if we're getting other assortments as it was a trial. Click HERE to see the flyer.

  • These won't be sent in our typical cases or packaging; they'll be packaged in cello bags. If you'd like a case for your stamp, you can buy our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases that come in packs of four.

In-colour Wildflower Meadow

Loving the ease of making cards with this stamp set & it's matching folder. This was one of the make and takes at my launch party for the new catalogue and it really is a winner so was also used as my make and take project at our SENZ stand.

Recipe to reKReate the card:

Stamp set: Wildflower Meadow (129165 W or 129168 C), Banner Greetings (hostess set)
Ink: Strawberry Slush & Pistachio Pudding
Paper: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Other: Wildflower embossing flower (129376), Beautiful Wings Embosslits (118138), Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds (131272), Simply Pressed Clay (130685)

If you buy the stamp set & matching embossing folder as a bundle you save 15%
- Clear Bundle 132985 ($39.75) or Wood Bundle 132735 ($46.50)

I made my flowers by adding some Pistachio Pudding re-inker & leaving them in the freezer for approx. 10-15mins before leaving overnight to dry, then lightly coloured the tips of the petals with Melon Mambo or Blushing Bride markers & then painting them with a mix of Crystal Effects & Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

It's been a crazy of couple of weeks with my catalogue launch & then working SENZ with Rachael Knight & Rosie Dunn over the weekend. If you visited us on the stand I hope you had as much fun as we did.

I finally have some down time as I'm in Adelaide all week at a microbiology meeting (another hat I wear) so hopefully will be able to post a few times whilst here.

Catch you soon.

Stepping Up the Spotlighting Technique

Many thanks to my team mates Patrice Halliday-Larsen & Dallas Hawes for sharing this project with me that they taught at a team Extravaganza project down in the Waikato earlier in the year.

I love the By The Tide stamp set & am very happy that it is carrying over from our current mini into our new annual catalogue. So when I saw someone blog this project I squealed as I also love soda pop tops & am saddened that they did NOT make the cut & are not being carried over, so the last day to order them is June 30th when the current mini catalogue expires.

The other cool thing about this project apart from the fancy swing created with the Top Note die is that the base card stock is Shimmery White so it's really very sparkly in real life.

This is the 2nd project we made at my recent Spotlighting techniques class.

Stamp sets: By the Tide (131910 W, 129120 C)
Ink: Old Olive (126953), Night of Navy (126970)
Paper: Night of Navy (106577), Shimmery White (121717)
Accessories: Soda Pop Tops (129388), Daffodil Delight marker (119677), Dazzling Diamonds glitter (102023), Silver Dazzle marker (128978)
Tools: Top Note die (113463), 1" circle punch (119868), 1/2" circle punch (119869), 2-way glue pen (100425), dimensionals (104430)

Hope you agree with me that using the soda pop tops as the frame/spotlight is a step up. Many thanks to Patrice & Dallas I still love this project.

Hopefully I'll blog a bit sooner - life is really busy at the moment as the count down to the new catalogue is approaching fast & there's still lot to do.

Enjoy your weekend all. Hope it's fun, warm & KRafty.

More fab swaps from convention

L>R Judy, myself, Sally & Donna - definitely looking WOW!
I maybe biased but today's swaps are some of my favorites as they contain the swaps from 3 of my own team - the WOW paperKRafters, that I had the pleasure of attending convention with & did we have a fab time; Sally Williams, Judy Beetson & Donna Blackmore - above is a snap of us in our finery for awards night.

Though we didn't win any awards on the night Donna & myself were very chuffed as we both got to march on stage TOGETHER as we have both have reached our 5 year anniversary with SU! which was a rather special moment.

We were also pretty lucky as a team with 50% of us winning a prize in prize patrol, even though  I didn't win prize patrol this convention celebrating SU!'s 25th anniversary truly was the most awesome with great sessions, demonstrations & I returned home with SIX (yes 6) new stamp sets, silver glimmer paper, rhinestones, silver dazzle, cute clips, a new bags & tags kit, new colour coach & most importantly a new annual catalogue 2 weeks early.

Back to the cards & posting them in alphabetical order.

Donna Blackmore's swap - totally blown away by how much effort went into this swap & so many layers, it really is a piece of art.

Judy Beetson's Blooming with Kindness - really striking in Cherry Cobbler red & black.

and Sally Williams side spring card in of course purple! The flower from Creative Elements has been cut into 3 layers so the flower really pops.

Hope you agree with me that they're all fab & thanks ladies for some inspiring ideas!

Best of Flowers & Best of Convention Swaps Part 1

BRRR wish I was back in not so sunny Surfers Paradise, as gosh winter arrived whilst I was away (the good thing about that is, it's a good time to craft).

In no particular order, some of my best of swaps from convention (to be honest they were the first handful I grabbed & they were all awesome & definitely worth sharing).

From Deb McLean, a summery flip flop card.

From Belinda Hennessey I just adore this card as it has 2 of my favourite stamp sets on it (Papaya Collage & Creative Elements).

From Rebecca Scurr; Thinking of You in Raspberry Ripple.

From Nicole Clare; she's also used Thinking of You & the strips of DSP have been embossed with the Woodgrain EF - looks really fab in real life.

It was great to catch up with one of the demos I met at my very first Stampin' Up! convention, Vicki Were & swap cards - love what she has done with Love & Sympathy.

And the same stamp set but so different, Sam Wilson from NSW's take:

Last but not least Anna Mathieson has used the sentiment from Love & Sympathy but stamps from Fabulous Floret - great colour combo for a sympathy card (Sahara Sand & Midnight Muse).

It's one month to our new annual catalogue launches & SU! have announced lots of new things starting now. As you may or may not know Stampin' Up! have just passed their 25th anniversary so lots of exciting things happening this year. Looking back they're releasing stamp sets reflecting the "Best Of" - first off the block is Best of Flowers (133342).

Click HERE to see all the details, but below is a few images I snapped at Convention using the Best of Flowers set - I really like the smaller image of "Upsy Daisy" & if you look carefully the background really is a background stamp, called Dictionary which will be available to purchase when the new AC is released July 2nd.

Last post from Brisbane as I head south for a few days for some R+R

Wow where did 5 days go. I'll just share the highlight video that SU! has up - if you look hard I'm there at least 2x. First time entering the Great Hall & one time waving my all attendee giveaway gift (one of many). I'm wearing a bone & black striped top.

Under the sea - my swap for convention.

It's a late start today after the awards night last night, so limited time to share (sorry).

I snapped my demo swap which my roomie & BFF Donna now is the owner of as it doesn't appear that I snapped one with my camera before giving them all away. I chose the colour combo from the Sale-a-bration DSP we received this year: Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango. I wanted to give the illusion of an aquarium as I was/am in a semi-tropical city. Though apart from eating crisp melons there hasn't been too much semi-tropical about Brisbane & the weather has been very much like home was.

I KR-eated the recipe with My Digital Studio (MDS) as it looked so much prettier than just a word document.

And talking about MDS one of the fun breakout classes yesterday was MDS, Yes! with the lovely & talented Shannon West & I now can re-KReate one of these cards & I learnt a lot of tips along the way which I can't wait to share,

I'll try & logon again later & share some party piccies as they're a lot of fun but another full on day & night planned so no promises, enjoy your weekend all I know I'm going to enjoy mine.

Brisbane day 3 report

WOW kinda gutted 2 day gone, only 2 days to go. I was planning to share my swap with you today & some of my favourite I received tomorrow, but thinking I forget to take a picture of mine, so I'll share some pictures from the event & some highlights so far.

Biggest highlight for me is I have the new catalogue, normally as a demonstrator I can start ordering them Friday 31st May for it's release on July 1st, but it so very cool to have it in my hands already!!!

Prize patrol 2 of my 3 downlines (Donna & Judy) won bundles of goodies yesterday, so we're feeling very lucky, the rest of us weren't too hard done by as everyone got the new colour coach, a new kit that is coming in our Seasonal Catalogue & it's matching stamp set, as well as that all attendees got a new stamp set called Tag It which is seriously cute to celebrate that the parent company has gone global with it's support of Ronald MacDonald House. So as well as an annual donation from the parent company to RMCH they release stamp sets in which a % of the sales go directly to the local RMCH.

Just a few snaps from the day to share, starting at Memento Mall & finishing off at a very cool pizza place called The Burrow. Better go get dressed - can't wait to see what today has in store for us but will be hard to bet yesterday.

And yes I did manage to eat ALL my pizza.

Brisbane day 2 & take one notepad

Hi all just a very quickie post as "someone" thought it would be nice to arrange a team breakfast meeting at 7am, so I could meet some of my team mates - I belong to one of the biggest teams in NZ & I think there are over 40 of us at the meeting. On a smaller scale I have 3 of my own downline with me Donna Blackmore, Judy Beetson & Sally Williams & these altered notepads are my take on the front cover of our current seasonal catalogue - one for each of us.

The "Brisbane" in Calypso Coral was printed with MDS on vellum card stock.

Well day one was leadership for me and a full on afternoon & night it was but we were treated like stars - more piccies & new to follow I'd better go shower & get ready for day 2.

If you're on Facebook & haven't friended me I'm posting directly from my phone there.

Convention kicking off in just under 5 hours & an AB FAB card to share

Today is the day that the annual Stampin' Up! convention kicks off in supposedly sunny Brisbane - but awoken to a very grey & gloomy day here - I think it's raining in Auckland so won't complain too loudly!

The view of the park across the road from our apartment
Donna & myself arrived yesterday & somehow a walk for breakfast supplies ended up being a shopping spree - we found a very cool shop called Charmed beside the Coles supermarket - many hours later we trudged up the road very tired but very happy wee campers, with bags of food, clothes & shoes.

Looking in at some of my purchases
On the plane Donna finally gave me my birthday card as somehow or other we hadn't caught up in the last month or so & I'd seen a scan of it but didn't realise how beautiful it was in the flesh or how BIG the card was it's 6 x 6" when finished, but it truly was worth the wait!

She's coloured in the Vanilla Flower trim flowers (126869) with Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake & Old Olive ink & popped them all up on another All Dressed Up frame.

Very sad as it looks like the flower trim we have in our current Seasonal Mini didn't make the cut to the new annual catalogue - so we have until June 30th to order it ($14.50 for a roll of approx. 100 flowers).

Better go get ready for my exciting day ahead & take some more photos to share.
